As part of a regular feature we will be taking a sneaky look into the lives of the people that make AKFP Group tick. This month, we get to know Nicola Russell…
Hi Nicola, let’s start with work; what does a ‘normal’ day constitute for you?
Pretty mad and hectic! My day is varied, opening up the office, post & papers, greeting clients, answering calls, booking meetings and dealing with most of what goes on in the daily day to day running of the office.
How long have you been with the company? How did you get started?
I have been with the company for 7 years. Through a friend.
When you were a child, what job did you want to do?
Work in silence or with music, background chatter and noise?
What’s been your greatest moment working here so far?
I don’t have a greatest moment.
Great! What’s your drink of choice while you’re working?
And when you’re not working?
Name the best place you’ve ever visited.
And how about the place that’s currently top of your ‘to visit’ list?
If you have the choice between staying in and going out, which do you normally choose and what do you normally do?
Depends on where I would be going.
What’s the one talent you have that people in your office are unaware of?
I draw and paint.
What would your ‘Desert Island’ disc, film and book be?
Journey Escape Album, Pretty in Pink, A thousand Splendid Suns.
Do you prepare well in advance or are you a ‘last minute’ person?
I prepare well in advance.
Who’d play you in the film of your life?
Penelope Keith (would love to say someone like Cameron Diaz, but I’m realistic)
DIY or call an expert?
Call an expert
If you had to compete at the Olympics, in any event, real or fake, what would you choose?
Do you ‘do’ Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn? Are they useful?
Don’t ‘do’ social media. Yes for a lot of reasons, No for a lot of other reasons
Physical book or e-book?
On a scale of 1-10, 1 being ‘not at all’, how clued up on technology do you feel you are?
And finally, if you could be any superhero, who would you be and why?
Wonder Woman – Because all women are.
