Michael Kirkwood

Michael has many years’ experience in the financial services industry. He graduated from Queens University in 1985 and left Belfast to work in London as a financial advisor for a few years before returning to the province as a Senior Consultant for a major pensions office. He then joined a multinational company to specialise in retirement planning, where he served on the Board of Directors for 13 years. He joined the AKFP team in October 2015.

His main area involves financial life planning for business owners/executives. He has given advice to Senior Executives of large global companies regarding their own financial affairs.

In addition, he spends time analysing the various options available at retirement for individuals and Trust investments.

An experienced Employee Benefits Consultant, his expertise includes presenting and explaining group pension arrangements, and he has vast experience in presenting to Boards of Directors regarding their personal employee benefits and incentives.

Michael firmly believes in getting to know his clients and he feels that it is vital that he uses this knowledge to communicate in an understandable and straightforward manner.
